COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TABLE, PHOTOINTERPRETER AND ANALIST,
ILLUMINATED, SPLIT STAGE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to Military specification MIL-T-52993 (ME).
The description covers an illuminated table for viewing and annotating photographic film for photointerpreting and analysis purposes.
Salient characteristics.
Design. The table shall have a two-section illuminated viewing surface which shall accommodate one strand of 9.5-inch wide aerial roll film or two strands of film with a with a combined width of up to 10.5 inches. it shall be equipped with a film transport system which shall facilitate manual transport of the film in both directions. The table shall be provided with an optics carriage equipped for mounting and movement of a Bausch & Lomb Zoom 240 optical system or equal over the viewing surface. It shall be provided with controllable light mask for use in blocking extraneous light at the front and back of the illuminated surface. The table shall be mounted on a base which can adjust the viewing surface to a comfortable working height for the operator. Each part of the table shall be of sufficient strength and rigidity to maintain smooth operation and proper alignment under normal conditions. The table shall withstand shock, vibration and inclination incident to handling and transport.
Weight. The table shall not weigh more than 400 pounds.
Dimensions. The dimensions of the table, without film spools, shall not exceed 62 inches wide, 31 inches deep, and 70 inches high.
