2.1.4  Carrying strap.  The case shall have an adjustable working length, carrying strap,

60.00 ±.50 inches long.  The strap shall be padded, secured to reinforced attachment points, and removable when not in use.

2.2  Material.  The case shall be fabricated from, compatible materials, inherently corrosion resistant, or treated to provide protection against corrosion and deterioration.  The case shall be a fabric, or similar material, of sufficient stiffness to retain self-supporting capabilities.

2.2.1  Color and treatment.  Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), all materials used to fabricate the case, pockets, handles, and carrying strap shall be in the manufacturer's standard color, and shall be treated to be water and mildew resistant.

2.3  Dimensions.

2.3.1  Closed case. The closed case shall be 16.25 x 13.25 x 5.75 (high) ± .125 inches (see figure

1).

2.3.2  Dedicated pockets.  The dedicated pocket dimensions shall be as shown in table I.  The dimensions are in inches with a tolerance of ± .06 inches,

2.4  Identification marking.  Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the carrying cases shall have

the contractor's identification located in a place where the data will be noticeable and legible, but not interfere with the operation of the case.

3.  REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.

3.1  Recovered materials.  The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

4.  QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS.

4.1  Market acceptability.  The carrying case offered shall be the latest model of the standard product of the supplier that has been used for at least one year by commercial organizations.
